The country today is in the midst of a momentous transition. Advancement in the material sphere-aided by science and technology has been remarkable. There is however, an asymmetry between material progress and human moral capacity to sustain the same. This is written large in every major sector of human activity. The theory and practice of Value Education can be a great relevance in analyzing the present predicament. At the same time, it calls for a fresh look into the academic and other means of value transmission and value generation.
